Strategic Engagement for a Sustainable Lake Naivasha Basin

In a landmark meeting between the Lake Naivasha Basin Landscape Association (LANABLA), led by Chairman Mr. Paul Ruoya and the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, critical steps were taken toward the sustainable management and protection of the Lake Naivasha ecosystem. Represented by Environment Secretary Dr. Selly Kimosop, on behalf of the Principal Secretary Dr. Eng. Festus K. Ng’eno, the State reaffirmed its commitment to working with community-led organizations to address key challenges such as pollution, invasive species, and unsustainable land use.
This collaborative dialogue emphasized the need for stronger stakeholder engagement, shared responsibility, and innovative conservation solutions. At the heart of the discussion was the annual lake cleaning exercise initiative that unites communities, government, and partners in preserving the basin’s biodiversity and securing livelihoods.
LANABLA continues to champion grassroots-driven environmental stewardship, recognizing that sustainable development begins with empowered communities and responsive partnerships.
Together, we can ensure a resilient, thriving Lake Naivasha Basin for generations to come.
